Lately the Sons of Ipswich have been feeling bursts of power at all times of the day, but this time, they know it's not Chase, and they know it isn't one of them. One day at Nicky's, Tyler is all alone and he feels it, the user close. He knows that everyone there, except one new girl, named Selena-Rose.
According to Lena-Rose, there are many more with their power, and someone had been recently seeking people like them out, leading them to Ipswich. Of course, not all of them had good intentions for the four families that had escaped the Witch Hunts by leaving for the New World. But there are some that wish to help. Can they trust Lena-Rose's information? Can they afford not to?

BEFORE SCHOOL BASH [everyone welcome] « Thread Started on Feb 19, 2009, 6:02pm »
Tyler looked around, watching all the kids dance and drink and act like idiots. He waited against a rock face, looking down from above. The beginning of the school year party was always interesting, even if it had barely started to get going. He leaned his head back and started to walk around the cliff to his Hummer, ready to drive down to the party. He didn't want to become like Chase, so addicted to the powers that it eventually brought his demise. But he still liked to use them, but he tried to keep it to when he really needed to.
He hopped in the car turned the ignition, putting it into drive and driving down to the party, a quick drive, especially for someone who was mildly reckless. He stopped abruptly and pulled the keys out of the ignition and slipped them in his pocket. Locking the doors and sliding out, he slammed the door and looked out at everyone that was there so far. Not a good crowd yet.

Shawn had been down at The Dells for about fifteen minutes. No one was there that he knew and he began to wonder why he had even bothered to show up. However, if it had been like anything last year, he would be just as happy. Last year's party had been complete and utter chaos, with people getting drunk, among other things, as soon as they'd arrive. This year's party seemed to be much calmer, as everyone was sipping their drinks in plastic red cups and hanging out by the fire, as it was slightly chilly tonight.
So, Shawn sat on someone's towel by the fire, waiting for something to happen or for someone he knew to show up. Quickly looking around, he saw Tyler Simms. Granted, he and Tyler weren't the best of friends, but they had taken a few classes last year together. And, currently, Tyler was the only person Shawn knew here. Shawn smiled to himself as he got up and walked toward Tyler. "Hey man, glad you could make it." he said to Tyler, extending his hand to him for daps. "Pretty crazy, huh?" he joked.

Selena slowly wandered down to The Dells. Her aunt Giselle suggested for her to go for it had to be better than spending her night hanging out on the computer. But as her smokey blue eyes explored around, she figured she much rather be on her computer. For this particular event, she wore her favorite pair of black denim skinny jeans, tucked into her gray knee high boots that went well with her gray and blue tunic. Above that was her black wool coat that she hugged closer around her.
She made her way closer to the fire and accepted the red cup that was handed to her. She took a cautious sip and ran her hand through her dark locks. Her eyes fell on her cousin talking to Tyler, a boy she met just once. She shook head and slowly took a seat on an empty towel. She crossed her legs and leaned back. If nothing was going to happen, she was going to leave. At least that was what she kept telling herself. Closing her eyes, she leaned back and relaxed.

Tyler looked out at everyone, avoiding the liquor in favor for a soda he'd brought with him, when he saw Shawn Townsend walking toward him. He gave him a nod, even though he wasn't the best of friends with him. "What's up, man?" he asked, knocking his fist against Shawn's lightly. "I don't even know why I get here to early. It always takes forever to start up." His eyes continued to scan the crowd, "How long do you give it to get going?" Tyler was curious because the faster it started up, the faster it got shut down by the cops.
He was looking at Shawn, when someone caught his eye. Selena-Rose Matthews. Ty had only met her once, but there was no denying she was gorgeous. His eyes followed toward her like a magnet, but he resisted it, looking back at Shawn. "You ready for school to start?"

Standing by Tyler as they made small chit-chat, Shawn watched as Tyler's eyes moved from him to someone else. Then he saw her, his cousin Selena-Rose Matthews. He wasn't really surprised to see her here, it was just a little surprising that she didn't have the attention of all the other horn dog boys drooling by her side, offering her drinks and offers to dance and whatnot. His focus returned as he heard Tyler ask him a question. "Eh, I dunno. At this rate it probably won't." he said lightly.
Again, Tyler's eyes where still floating in and out towards Selena's direction and he had to suppress a chuckle. "Have you met my cousin?" he asked as he moved his head towards Selena's direction. It was no denying the fact that when romance was involved, Shawn wasn't exactly the best person to go to, as his track record with women was horrible. However, even before Tyler could answer, Shawn waved to Selena to come over towards them. "Selena-Rose Matthews! You come to the party and don't even bother to say hello to me?" he yelled playfully.

Her brow slowly rose when her cousin's voice loudly drifted towards her. She opened her eyes and sat up, cocking her head to the side. With a shake of her head, she slowly lifted herself off the towel and brushed off her jeans. She walked towards her cousin and Tyler, handing her drink off to one of the boys that tried to talk to her. "Since when have you ever used my full name in one sentence?" She asked as she crossed her arms over her chest. "Let alone my whole first name?" She added with a small amused sighed.
She turned her attention towards Tyler. "Tyler right? Name's Selena-Rose as my cousin said. But I rather be called Lena or Lena-Rose or something." She commented with a small shrug. Then turning back to her cousin. "And Shawn, since I see you smug little face every day, I thought maybe just once I don't have to say hi." She said jokingly as she slowly tucked her hands into her back pockets of her jeans.

Cole was late getting to the party. He pulled next to a car with his motorcycle and just took off his helmet looking out over the crowd of kids. This was, as he had been told, a party to start off the school year. His parents didn't see any problem with him going and so he went. He just walked down to the crowd of people not sure what to do or say. Cole just kept walking looking for some sign of something to do or some type of occurance to happen that would make his life and this night more interesting.
